Low, trim-fitting hood is a little more restrictive and less versatile than Arc’teryx’s traditional StormHood found on its hardshells. Once your return is processed, please allow up to 5 (five) working days for the money to appear in your bank account ( this is the bank's policy, not ours)

Then I'd recommend you the Zeta SL ( Men's- Women's) . After 2021 updates, this is your only option anyway. Arc'teryx discontinued Zeta FL ( read my review ), Beta FL ( read my review ) and Beta SL Hybrid ( read my review ) all together. If you’re thinking about buying it for that purpose, the product fits. It’s easy to carry around and will keep you dry and comfortable whenever you need it to. The Zeta SL is an excellent option for those looking for top-of-the-line hiking equipment. Main zipper isn’t two-way, which can be helpful for activities like belaying when you’re wearing a harness. When you must full-on hike wearing your Zeta SL, you will find that it breathes as well or better than some of its competitors. Warranty: Arc’teryx will replace or repair rain gear for what it considers to be the practical product lifespan. Rain gear damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a reasonable price. We have spent the last few months putting the Zeta LT through its paces to see how it performed through a few months of travel, hiking in Pakistan, and city use in Paris.

What I liked best: The Zeta FL is light, insanely water resistant, and breathable. The hood snugs up to keep out wind and rain. The zippers feel sturdy, don’t snag, and keep out the water. To keep your outdoor clothing and equipment in tip top condition and performing to its maximum we recommend the use of Nikwax products. We have been using Nikwax products since day one (26 th March 1986) and have found them to be totally reliable, dependable and effective. Today’s Nikwax treatments contain environmentally friendly elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to fabric fibres, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. These stretchy polymers are able to stretch and move with the fabric so they stay put for longer and work better. Water repellency: Excellent. Water beaded up on the outer fabric, and brushed off like snowflakes even in the heaviest of rain. With a feature-rich build, top-notch build quality, and accommodating fit, the Zeta AR is a versatile and tough shell for a variety of activities and seasons. Fabric: 20d nylon laminated in a 2-layer Gore-tex (N20p Paclite Plus) construction, with two-way stretch in key areas for improved comfort/articulation High performance weather protection and materials, emphasizing versatility for multiple activities. Gore-Tex with C-Knit construction is soft and supple against the skin and great when paired with just a t-shirt, which many hikers will appreciate. Then I would have recommended the Zeta AR ( Women's ) to most of you, but as I said earlier (and as you can see here), after Fall 2021 update, it's only available for women and not for men.

It’s extremely light. The Zeta SL weighs just less than 11 ounces, making it one of the lightest Gore-Tex hardshells out there. We currently don’t provide the breathability rating as this measure isn’t standardized in the industry and the results can be influenced by many factors (the fit, outside temperature and humidity and much more). If comfort and weather protection are your top priorities, going with a more budget-friendly option will certainly come with some compromises and shortcomings. If, on the other hand, you either (1)want something even more durable than the Beta AR, (2)will be hiking in quite severe weather and/or (3) want something baggier to maximize your under layering options, then Beta SV ( Men's- Women's) can be an amazing choice for you. What I liked best: The Zeta SL pants, like the coat, are light, insanely water resistant, and breathable. The front crotch zipper and three-quarter-length side zippers give these pants versatility that I’ve never had in rain pants. Other features include watertight lower-leg zippers, snapping zip fly, and a fully articulated waistband. Not surprisingly, people want to wear the Zeta rain pant more. For technical hiking, trekking, durable and protective designs for remote and varied conditions. GORE-TEX The Zeta SL is primarily designed as an outer shell, more commonly referred to as a hard shell; which means it works well to protect you from strong winds on cold days, right up to torrential downpours.

The Zeta SL uses a 40-denier nylon ripstop which is a little thinner than the 50D used on both the Outdoor Research Foray or the Marmot Minimalist. While it is thinner, we don't think there is much, if any difference in toughness, tear-resistance, or overall longevity. In fact, the Zeta is more tear-resistant and offers longer-lasting weather resistance than the price pointed Patagonia Torrentshell, REI Essentials, or the Marmot Precip. Best Applications The Theta AR has a looser fit overall. Here are the approximate measurements of the garments itself: Water repellency: Excellent. Water beaded up on the outer fabric, and brushed off like snowflakes, even in the heaviest of rain. The beading properties of Gore-Tex go a long way toward preventing the fabric from wetting out.Cuffs: The cuffs are elasticized to seal in the warmth and keep out the wind, but loose enough for lightweight gloves to slip underneath them. Stiffened hood brim, low-volume hood, not helmet-compatible, rolls and snaps if needed to keep from flapping in wind Slim fit: The pants don’t bag out in the rear or thighs. There’s an inside cord to adjust the pants at the waist. The large pants fit nicely over my 5 feet, 10 inches, and 175 pounds. Again, I’d go up a size if you’re much bigger. Waterproof: Goes without saying. Hiking cold and wet in the rain doesn’t make me stronger. It makes me miserable. New member of Beta line Beta Long ( Men's) feels weird. Really weird. A combination of N80p face fabric and regular Gore-Tex (not Gore-Tex Pro) is confusing.
