About this deal

Early battles have revealed that the sheer presence of colossal war machines, looming over terrain and decimating vulnerable units, can be exceedingly potent. This holds particularly true for armies fielding towering units like Imperial and Chaos Knights, armed with devastating weaponry. Furthermore, the Indirect Fire ability, employed by units like the Desolation Squad, has proven to be a challenge for many opposing armies to counter. Enhancements: The fabled Phoenix Gem makes an appearance again, and it is just as effective as ever.

When it comes to manipulating fate the Aeldari are known to tug at those strings. This pool of dice is nothing new to the game. What makes it unique is that you start with 12D6 and can choose to re-roll all the dice for a better pool. But each time you do you lose one die from the roll. These dice are then “fixed” at the number and you can use them to replace the die rolls above. Gav Thorpe’s Path of the Aeldari collection is the most comprehensive look at how varied Aeldari culture is, as three friends from Craftworld Alaitoc embark on different Paths, the sacred vocations which the Aeldari undertake at various times in their centuries-spanning lives. This isn’t just an exciting time for Aeldari, but for all Warhammer 40,000 xenos players – after the craftworlds touch down, there’s something gribbly and chitinous coming. We don’t want to say too much right now, but there are lots of them, they’ve come a long way, and they’re VERY hungry. For biomass. Okay, you forced it out of us – it’s the Tyranids . Welcome to our in-depth exploration of the Aeldari faction in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. Unlike humans, this ancient race known as the Aeldari possess a profound understanding of Chaos and its devastating consequences. Despite being on the brink of extinction, the Aeldari’s mastery of elegant weaponry and finely honed psychic abilities make them a formidable force in the game. In this blog post, we’ll delve into their highly mobile playstyle, faction rules, notable units, powerful weapons, and strategic abilities. As a means of calming their tempestuous emotions and keeping their ancient enemy at bay, most Aeldari devote themselves to specialised Paths, on which they hone one skill, sometimes to the point of obsession. Aspect Warriors are the Aeldari who walk the martial paths. Each Aspect Shrine is built around the teachings of a Phoenix Lord, legendary figures inspired by the various ways the Aeldari god of War, Khaela Mensa Khaine, engaged in battle.

Craftworld Attributes – As you’d guess, these are the rules associated with being from a particular Craftworld, explained below. The YNNARI are classed as a CRAFTWORLD in all aspects, but have few more complications that warrant their own section. Perhaps you need your new Shroud Runners to snipe a crucial mortal wound onto an enemy leader, or your Howling Banshees are about to launch a pivotal charge? Since the manipulated dice counts as an unmodified 6, your visions will even allow you to activate certain abilities – like your beefed-up Shuriken weapons – as if you rolled the result naturally.

The Aeldari are a highly mobile army full of specialised units that can boost their already devastating powers by examining the skeins of destiny, discerning exactly where to place a surgical strike. They then nimbly retreat, their battle lines dodging reprisal like the tide retreating from the shore. Faction RulesReveal turns off Cover for an enemy unit, letting all your ASURYANI units Ignore Cover against the target. Great for punching through Light Cover, as well as improving your accuracy through Dense. Good to have at any opportunity. Bladestorm- Grants exploding 6s to a units’ Shuriken weapons. Given the vast amounts you can have in the army, this can be pretty devastating for only 1CP. Dire Avengers, Windriders, War Walkers, even the humble Guardian can all benefit from this and really lay on the pain. Jinx reduces an enemy unit’s Sv Characteristic by 1, to a minimum of 6+. This is a very powerful debuff, making your pleth There’s a rich vein of fiction to explain the Aeldari in more detail. Gav Thorpe’s landmark omnibus, Path of the Eldar , covers many aspects of the Aeldari, while Ghost Warrior explores the newly formed Ynnari faction, and The Masque of Vyle focuses on the Harlequins. While I thought that the Warhammer 40k Aeldari Faction Focus couldn’t get better, the best part wasn’t even showed until the Weapon Spotlight. The only new gun showcased was the Prism Cannon of the Fire Prism, the heavy tank of the Aeldari forces. This gun currently has 14 or 6 Strength depending on the profile, and it can deal a devastating 3D3 Damage with a -5 AP if you fire it in Focused mode. The Prism Cannon just got a huge buff!

The Guardian Defenders are the primary source of Fate dice generation showcased for the Aeldari. The Battleline unit’s Defenders of Fate ability lets you make new Fate dice if the Guardian Defenders are in range of an objective marker, which is incredibly valuable – especially when used in conjunction with the Farseer’s Branching Fates skill. In contrast with many other armies’ Battleline troops hitting on a 4+, the Defenders retained their 3+ Ballistic Skill – but they’ll also still have 3 Toughness, so once and enemy unit gets to them, they’ll rarely see to fight tomorrow. Their heavier weapons also got the 10 th Edition Strength increase, so overall, Eldar players can be really happy with their troops as well as the one character showcased. With army-wide rules, more datasheets, weapon profiles, and new stratagems, the picture of how Eldar will work in 10th Edition 40k is starting to come into focus. Latest Updates & New Rules Articles For Warhammer 40k 10th EditionThe birth of a chaos god consumed the heart of the Aeldari Empire, swallowing hundreds of worlds. Slaanesh slew vast numbers of Aeldari and defeated their gods – the survivors of their pantheon imprisoned or scattered. Additionally, where once the Aeldari were deathless now their souls are claimed by Slaanesh to sustain her. Without soul stones or infinity circuits to protect their souls they are lost forever. TheChirurgeon: This is a good step in the right direction, but it’s not a very big step. I think there are probably some notions internally at GW that the meta is still adjusting, but that they didn’t want to see what adjusting to Eldar and indirect in their current states might look like. The Fate Dice nerf was very necessary and it’s good to see, and the point hikes are good but to Wings’ point they definitely don’t prevent Eldar from being the game’s top faction. Though hopefully they’ll slide down to like a 60% faction from the current 65% mark they’re sitting at. The Aeldari are an ancient and once-proud race whose hubris caused their demise. As their civilisation reached new heights of technology and culture, and they came to dominate the galaxy around them, they began to seek stranger and darker pleasures. Champion of the Aeldari- Give a Character a Warlord Trait. There are some solid Traits available to the Craftworlds, so this can help make some strong characters for both offence or support. Stratagems marked with a * are part of the general AELDARI set of Stratagems, so if you are running a mixed Army with some HARLEQUINS , you can’t double up on them, so consider that in list building and in game.
