If you're experiencing excessive audio delays (of about 1 second or more) in retroarch based emulators, try reducing the retroarch audio delay configuration by going to retroarch Settings>Audio>Output>Audio Latency (ms). It's set by default to 128. You can try reducing that to 64 or another number and see if that helps. Anbernic has released a new frontend for their Android operating system, which will work on the RG353P and the upcoming RG353V. In this video I’ll walk you through the installation of their new Android build, and show off some of its features (and failures) within. To prepare this card properly to be read by both systems, you need to first boot into the Android system (remove card from TF1 slot) and place your blank SD card into the TF2 slot once the OS is running. This will allow you to format the card as external storage readable by the Android OS.

Once the Linux OS has booted up for the first time and everything has been configured, making your way around is pretty straight forward. Anyway, when you do need to dive into the options to tweak a setting here or there, the Linux experience keeps a lot of the major stuff in the frontend. You get to avoid the kerfuffle of learning the ins and outs of, say, Retroarch, and instead set major global and per-game options in a user-friendly list. It also provides easy access to all of your UI customization, media scraping tools, and updates. Booting the Android frontend brings you to this uh Cyberpunk Arcade Trailer When you first boot into Android on the RG353 device, you’ll be presented with a pretty empty screen. The basic things you’ll need to know Here is a list of game streaming/desktop streaming services that I have personally tested on my RG353VYou can now use File Manager to navigate to /mnt/usbdrive to access the mounted USB drive to copy and/or move files between it and ArkOS. Can the mouse pointer that's always visible in the upper right corner of Drastic (NDS Emulator) be removed? To properly shutdown your system from the main menu, press the Start button and scroll down to Quit then select Shutdown System. Android Q. Can I use external controllers with this unit? A. Yes. Bluetooth and USB controllers should work with the unit. For bluetooth controllers, make sure to go to Bluetooth in the options system section just before Retroarch and run it. It will start the Bluetooth connection manager. Put your bluetooth controller into pairing mode and select Connect to new Bluetooth device and add your bluetooth device. Just in time for the spooky season, World of Horror has launched out of Early Access on PC and also landed on Switch and PS4. Should you explore this world filled with disturbing, eldritch encounters?

All in all, the RG353V is neither a downgrade nor an incremental upgrade but rather a new addition to the RG353 line (as the name suggests) to cater to different preferences. It could be recommended for those preferring the vertical layout and while the RK3566 is showing its age on more demanding systems, you expect decent emulation for systems up to N64 and Dreamcast, with the bonus of being able to emulate PSP and run Android. If this will satisfy your retro gaming needs, it’s worth looking into this device as the hardware build wont disappoint. But I still wish Anbernic would release a more high performance retro handheld than rehash chips it has already worked with. The action buttons are bouncy, stay in their place and do not rattle when shaken, the large D-PAD feels great too, which has always been a thing with ANBERNIC devices. Xbox Gamepass – Some people have no problem streaming with gamepass but I personally found that the video will freeze every few minutes for a few seconds at a time which totally ruins the experience. Of the two variants, the more expensive is the RG353V. It comes with 2GB of RAM and the ability to dual boot Batocera and Android 11. The RG353VS has just 1GB of RAM and does not ship with Android. The only other differences between these versions are that the RG353V contains a 32GB eMMC for the Android install, and a touch enabled LCD. Both variants run the non-Android OS from a microSD card. OVERVIEW I see this device as a positive step for Anbernic’s vertical line of handhelds, smartly evolving from the 351V and becoming a better product as a result. The flaws are handily outweighed by a device that provides an excellent Linux mode, a Nintendo-grade build quality, and a form factor and look that is nostalgic and dare I say cute? I dare say. I loved my time with this device during the course of reviewing it and I intend to make it one of my daily drivers, particularly for the 8-bit and 16-bit games that make the most of the iconic appearance it mimics. You can tell some basic research when into the positioning of these buttons, typically with other ANBERNIC handhelds they just seem to be scattered across the device randomly, but not on the rg353V.You can grab JELOS from https://github.com/JustEnoughLinuxOS/distribution/releases UnofficialOS (fork of JELOS) The SD card reader on your unit may be bad. At which point, you would need to repair, replace, or return the unit. Once ArkOS is setup to use the second sd slot for roms and games, your main sd card and your roms sd card must be in the unit for ArkOS to boot. Both models have the RK3566 Quad-Core 64 bit Cortex-A55 processor which runs up to 1.8GHz. The RG353V dual boot retro gaming console has 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 32GB internal eMMC storage for the Android operating system. The RG353VS with Linux OS has 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
