You’ll only spot individual pixels with your nose pressed up to the display, viewing angles are surprisingly good and decent contrast gives images a pleasant visual punch. There’s a sense of solidity and balance that continues onto the right edge of the phone, where the power and volume buttons sit. While the contrast is very good at 1,444:1, an sRGB gamut coverage of 82% points to a display with very poor colour reproduction. Chrome takes care of your web browsing, Google Photos manages your images, Messages yours texts – which is all in blissful contrast to rival efforts from Huawei, Oppo and the like. But we do expect a base level of fluidity when doing the basics, and that just hasn’t been provided here.

New – A New product which show no signs of use and be in perfect working condition and be packaged in our Envirofone Box.Onto the latest midrange onslaught, and starting with the E6 Play, it launches off the back of the E6 Plus, with the same combination of a fingerprint scanner and face unlocking on a budget phone.

Colour accuracy isn’t all that great, with images taking on a noticeable blue hue that can’t really be tweaked away using the colour temperature slider buried in the display settings. Choose from Ocean Blue and Steel Black designs, each with a metallic finish that looks as great as it feels. The moto e6 play features a fingerprint sensor and face unlock that let's you instantly access your phone. On Envirofone, this refurbished phone is available in the colour’s anthracite and turquoise blue, meaning the 3D glass back of your phone will outshine the rest… literally! It’s running Android Pie, but don’t go thinking an update to Android 10 will have any positive effects on performance – and with no confirmed release date, you could be waiting a while.

Last year, Motorola released the Moto E6 Plus, which is a pretty weird name for a phone if you’re not planning on releasing any other versions. While we’re on the subject of patience, I’ve mentioned already how slow the Moto E6 Play can be to even get into the Camera app. With a low-power CPU and a relatively modest HD+ display, it simply isn’t as power-hungry as most other phones. Crank things up to the max and the screen will still sear your retinas when you’re lying in bed, but head outside and even on cloudy days you can struggle to see what’s onscreen.

Speakers: Mono loudspeaker, forward facing, Keyboard: Virtual, charger, USB cable, SIM tool, silicone case, 24 Months Warranty, LTE Cat 4 (150Mbps/50Mbps); SAR value: 0. A large part of this performance shortfall is down to the choice of CPU – a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core chip that trails even the modest silicon provided for the Moto E6 Plus before it. Anonymous, 03 Dec 2019 The removable battery is a pretty cool feature, but no matter what the chip set is ,Mediatek.Peek under the hood and there’s a distinctly entry-level MediaTek MT6739 chipset paired with 2GB RAM. Editorial independence means being able to give an unbiased verdict about a product or company, with the avoidance of conflicts of interest. Because the main camera offers PDAF (phase detection auto focus), this high speed automatic focus technology uses pixels to enable faster and more accurate auto focus. But given the huge number of superb budget handsets already available, there’s just no reason to pick up a Moto E6 Play.
